A Picture-Perfect (literally, look at these photos!!) Charleston Proposal: Jordan & Katie’s Engagement
There’s something undeniably special about Charleston—the cobblestone streets, historic charm, and breathtaking coastal views. It’s a city that captures hearts, and for Katie, it’s her absolute favorite place in the world. So, when her now-fiancé Jordan decided to pop the question, there was only one location that felt right: the enchanting city of Charleston.
I first met Jordan and Katie a few months ago during a styled shoot in downtown Charleston. They were our models, and from the moment they stepped in front of my camera, it was clear that they had a deep connection. They effortlessly brought our vision to life, and little did I know that this beautiful couple would soon become the stars of one of the most memorable proposals I’ve ever had the privilege of capturing.
Fast forward to this summer—Jordan had been planning a surprise proposal that would catch Katie in a sweet moment of shock. Knowing how much Charleston meant to her, he meticulously planned every detail to ensure the moment was nothing short of magical. From the location to the timing, everything was perfect. Was I stalking his location on his phone while simultaneously hiding behind a brick pillar? Yes! LOL!
The proposal took place in one of Charleston’s most picturesque spots, in my opinion at least. As the golden hour light creeped in, Jordan led Katie to a quiet, tucked-away corner of the city. As they strolled hand-in-hand, Katie was unaware that just a few steps away, her boyfriend was going to turn her into a fiancé!!
When they reached the spot, Jordan dropped to one knee, and the look of surprise and joy on Katie’s face was unforgettable. The moment was filled with raw emotion—tears of happiness, laughter, and a love so palpable it could be felt by everyone nearby. And, of course, I was there, camera in hand, capturing every second of this beautiful moment. I absolutely loved how Katie kept saying "OMG! OMG! OMG!" over and over again!
Charleston, with its undeniable charm and romantic ambiance, was the perfect backdrop for Jordan and Katie’s engagement. The city’s beauty only enhanced the love that these two share, making for some truly stunning engagement photos that I’m thrilled to share with them. The joy and excitement in their eyes, the tender moments they shared after the proposal, and the laughter as they celebrated their future together—all of it was captured in a way that tells the story of this special day.
For me, as a photographer, being a part of such intimate and meaningful moments is a true honor. Seeing a couple’s love story unfold and having the opportunity to document it is what makes my work so fulfilling. Jordan and Katie’s engagement is a reminder of why I fell in love with photography in the first place—it's about preserving memories, capturing emotions, and telling stories that will be cherished for a lifetime.
